Updated: Apr 17, 2023

Taiba Zubaid has shared ways to nurture our sense of self-value, which can allow anyone to flourish.

With the rise of social media, it has become inevitable to avoid comparisons and silence negative talk. Although social media provides individuals with escapism and a sense of personal identity, research has found it can lower an individual's self-esteem. Therefore, Taiba has developed the following notions to improve our understanding of worth and respect.

"Firstly, it is important to surround yourself with people who allow your self-confidence and self-image to blossom. Setting boundaries with people who do the opposite and make you question your worth and value is imperative. Moreover, it is crucial to seek guidance from others when doubting your sense of self-respect. Reaching out to people who ground you and act like a haven will help you gain wisdom and valuable advice. This can be friends, family members, and even therapists. You must feel like yourself when you are around them to be as truthful as possible when opening up."

Incorporating daily exercises into your routines, such as meditation, yoga, and pilates, is also beneficial, as these have been proven to help reduce feelings of self-consciousness. Additionally, limiting the screen time of your children's screen time can improve their performance in school and your performance at work!
